Because of the large time span involved (1946-1964), Baby Boomers range in age from their forties to those who turned 60 in 2006. That makes leading-edge boomers senior citizens by some definitions (you can join AARP at 50, retired or not). Since we have entered the age of "60 is the new 40," perhaps this senior citizen stuff is just a lot of talk to try and sell something. I mean, who wants to be a senior citizen unless there is something in it for them, like discounts and special deals? Since life's desires, concerns, and needs vary as we travel through, you will find a wide variety of information at RenoBoomers.com.
A baby boomer is someone who was born during the period of increased birth rates, when economic prosperity rose in many countries following World War II (WWII). In the United States, the term is iconic and more properly capitalized as Baby Boomers and commonly applied to people with birth years after WW II and before the Vietnam War, thus possibly comprising more than one generation (1946-1964). The Baby Boom is the iconic term widely used to refer to the American population and culture in particular, as post WW II demographics across the world did not mirror the sustained growth in American families over the same interval. - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia online.
